About Me
I came to yoga several years ago seeking peace and healing. I found that and much more. Little did I realize how much my life would change as a result. I have always been active and love the outdoors - hiking, cycling, paddle boarding and more. Staying fit and healthy feels good. Yoga taps into all of that and goes even deeper, offering tools to bring together full integration of mind, body and spirit.
Helping others realize their full potential has long been my passion. I am a certified yoga therapist and I have a graduate degree in counseling psychology and long corporate career in leadership and people development. I love that the tools of yoga therapy bring all of these modalities together to allow me to guide others in living their best and fullest life.
What is Yoga Therapy?
Yoga therapy is a whole person approach to bringing about harmony of mind, body and spirit.
Through the lens of yoga therapy, I bring in tools to balance body and mind with physical movement, breath exercises, mindfulness, meditation and affirmation uniquely tailored to your needs.
Benefits of yoga therapy can include reduction of physical discomfort, lessening of anxiety, depression, and stress, improved sleep and enhancement of overall mental and physical well-being.
I love this work because I believe that it can truly bring enrichment, joy and balance and I’d love to walk this journey with you!
Employee Wellness
On-line yoga and meditation classes are a wonderful way to improve overall wellness and well-being in the work place. A 30-minute movement or meditation session is an easy individual or team offering that can energize and provide a much needed break in the work day. Pulling the team together for an all day meeting? A yoga break is just the thing to kick off the day or add some lift to the afternoon.
Coming from 20+ years of leadership in the corporate world, I have first hand experience to share!
What People are Saying
"When I began my journey with yoga therapy, I was at a crossroads, returning to work after recovering from burnout. Karen embarked on this journey with me with a clear aim: to equip me with a toolbox of techniques – physical postures, breathing exercises, and meditation – to navigate this challenging transition successfully. Karen's approach in our weekly sessions was both gentle and profound. She expertly guided me in exploring not only the day-to-day tensions I faced but also in delving into the deeper challenges beneath the stories I told myself. Karen has the unique gift of holding up a mirror, allowing me to see things clearly, connecting the dots of my experience in a way only someone with her insight could. The benefits of yoga therapy are indeed personalized and profound, but the true key to this transformative experience is Karen herself. Her expertise, compassion, and ability to walk with her clients on their unique paths make her an exceptional yoga therapist. I am immensely grateful for her presence in my life and cannot recommend her and the practice of yoga therapy highly enough." - AD
"Working with Karen has been an absolute pleasure-from talking and a simple breath meditation to longer movements, I always feel safe and grounded. I was very much a beginner in yoga as a whole but utilizing the yoga therapy allowed me to open up physically and even more mentally. I’m grateful for Karen’s patience and expertise in both yoga and yoga therapy; aligning my experience in both heart and mind!" - CL
"I attended several yoga therapy sessions with Karen, and it was such a positive experience. After discussing my medical history and my desired outcome, Karen created a tailored plan based on my needs. At each session, she instructed me on proper form; she guided me through relaxation techniques; and she ultimately assisted me in achieving my goals of being more mindful and improving my health and my overall well-being. What I learned from her was invaluable: movement, breathing exercises, and meditation practices, all of which I continue to incorporate into my daily life." - AF
What People are Saying
"When I began working with Karen, I had two goals, to regain mobility and to explore breathing and meditation for my anxiety. I didn't really believe it would change much. I have never been so delighted to be wrong. Breathing and meditation have been life changing. I do not use that term lightly either. My patience with my students and my family has dramatically increased. The time I spend with family has always been something to be dreaded and avoided. It will result in tears and feelings of worthlessness for weeks. Yet I have had two family gatherings that lasted multiple days and ENJOYED them! My one sister, whom I am close to, has noticed a difference in how I interact with others and my friends have commented that I seem so much calmer and more peaceful. I now meditate multiple times a day for short periods of time. These sessions increase my joy. Notice I have not mentioned mobility, which was my primary goal when we began. I am gaining mobility and that will continue, but for me and my journey it has become a side benefit. The quieting of my brain has been so much more than I could have ever imagined it would be. Reframing and reflection have led me to be a person I love a little more every day." - DN
"A huge thank you, Karen. You really shaped the session to the context of what the team needed. I can see this working for leadership teams everywhere exactly as it is." - LW
